Creating unique and authentic experiences in Patagonia since 1988

That is why we have created Patagonia by Las Balsas, looking for our guest to become the main character of authentic Patagonia:

  • Specialist guides who are local hosts.-
  • Corners and details of the landscape and its history.-
  • Various local and regional options that fit your personal motivations.-

The Lakes District

The Lake District is located in the northern region of Patagonia, in the middle of the Andes mountain range. It is made up of mountains and valleys with hundreds of lakes, lagoons and rivers surrounded by unique native forests considered of vital importance for global biodiversity. Our forest is characterized by a leafy green color, due to the abundant rains and snowfalls of the South Pacific winds that discharge their moisture when crossing the mountain range. Only 50 km to the East, this ancient forest is replaced by the immensity of the Patagonian Steppe: a great desert of small bushes and grasslands that extends for thousands of kilometers until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean.

Villa La Angostura

The small Patagonian town where Las Balsas is located, is located between mountains, forests and lakes. Villa La Angostura is a young town with stories of explorers, stories of Mapuches and Creoles, stories of a melting pot of German, English, French and Italian immigrants among others, who have forged dreams and hopes within a majestic postcard.

The forests of Patagonia are a world priority for biodiversity conservation. The Nahuel Huapi National Park is among the conservation pioneers in the world and in turn we are part of a Biosphere Reserve declared by UNESCO.
